Speaker:
Waverly Fitzgerald,
Notable Writers on Writing
Writing Family History: A Workshop
University of Washington Extension

Lecture:

Writing Your Family History

Waverly Fitzgerald is the author of four historical novels set in Victorian
England. She is one of our own, having completed the UW Extension
certificate program in Genealogy and Family History in 1996. Waverly was
also the Publications Director for the Seattle Genealogical Society. A
writing teacher for over 20 years, she's taught classes in writing memoir,
novels and non-fiction books for UW Extension, the Experimental College, UW
Women's Center and Richard Hugo House.

This is an extremely important lecture to us as Family Historians and to our
Alumni Association in particular. The Association is working with Tony
English of the UW G&FHC Program to place examples of our class projects
online. If you are not feeling as confident about your project as you'd
like, or you would like to add some polish to your finished project, this is
the lecture for you.

Waverly will also discuss the UW Extension Program's workshop on "Writing
Family History" scheduled for June 2006 and will entertain specific and
individual questions regarding writing a family history.

Questions about writing a family history may be emailed to Linda Palmer at
palmerlr@comcast.net and they will be forwarded to Waverly so that she may
incorporate them into her lecture.

We have also invited the students of the 2006 G&FHC Program to attend this
meeting. We want to show them our strong commitment to the association and
give them a taste of life after the certificate. Please attend this meeting
and offer your support to these students and to our growing membership.

Lunch:

Everyone is invited to meet for lunch at 1:15 at The Claim Jumpers
Restaurant
, 7210 164th Ave NE, Redmond, WA 98052, (425) 885-1273.
Cross Street: Near intersection of Bear Creek Pkwy and 164th Ave
NE. When you check in, the reservations are under Linda Palmer's name.

Waverly has graciously accepted our invitation to join us for lunch.

We hope to see you at the meeting and also for lunch, let’s make the March
meeting a success!
