Historical Records Project

11/11/2005 Meeting Recap

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the Alumni Meeting yesterday. I hope you all enjoyed our speaker, Terri Nelson, Coordinator of the Historical Records Project at the Washington State Archives.

Her enthusiasm for the subject is infectious. It was a fantastic presentation. For those of you who would like to contact Terri and did not receive her business card, her email address is tnelson@secstate.wa.gov.

After the meeting she spoke with me about our group organizing a volunteer project for just our members. I have sent her a request asking for further information, criteria, time lines, etc. When I have that information I will present it to the attending the January meeting. Thank you, Andrea.

Lisa Marker for the door prize drawings. Great idea, great job. Lisa has been an active volunteer and all around nice person. You should know that she put this all together during a move and we all know how tough it is to move. She also raffled off her own stash and that can't go on forever, so if you have anything you would like to contribute to the door prize stash, please contact Lisa at lmarker@u.washington.edu. Thank you, Lisa.

Thank you to all of those who volunteered before and during the meeting to set up chairs and tables and those who stayed after to take it all down. We have a terrific membership who have such giving personalities. They are great friends you can always count on. Thank you all.

To the Volunteer Groups - Those that started this organization, those that kept it going year after year, and to the 2005 Volunteer Group whom I have the privilege to work with. Thank you.

To Charles Hunger for opening his home to the Volunteer Group and offering to start brick wall workshops. Got a brick wall and want to talk about it with other researchers? Contact Charles at Hungecx@aol.com. Charles and I will be working on a form to record inconsistencies in information. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, to all those who have actively participated in making the Alumni Association a success.

Lastly and most importantly, to Sarah who is the glue that holds this all together. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Sarah. None of us would be here without you.
